About Me

Ashwin Mitchell (b. 2001) is an emerging filmmaker and photographer from Dallas, Texas. He is currently based in Los Angeles. He received his BA in Media Arts from the University of North Texas in 2022. In 2024, he completed his MFA in Film, Television, and Digital Media from the University of California, Los Angeles.

In the production environment, Ashwin helps translate ideas into a visual language through photography. He specializes in Unit Stills and Editorial Photography. He is currently head of Photography at Across the Line, a multimedia platform and creative agency that invests in athletes, creators, and niche sports.

In addition to media, Ashwin is a working photographer. Returning for his 3rd season, Ashwin is a Dance photographer for Kids Artistic Review, Rainbow Dance Competition, and Ultra Dance Competition. Through which, he tours the country photographing dancers across the United States. Additionally, you will find Ashwin photographing events across Los Angeles, including comedy shows, concerts, and stage productions.

As hobbies, Ashwin enjoys traveling, attending jazz concerts at the Sun Rose, learning French, exploring Los Angeles County, and spending time with family/friends. 

In the future, Ashwin wants to contribute to an organization that improves fine art studies in black communities.
